Location and the sea
Liman is at the western end of Konyaalti Beach, between the Boğaçayı river and the Port of Antalya. From most buildings you can walk to the sea in a few minutes. Read more in our guide to Liman.
Hurma is north of Liman, closer to the Beydağları mountains. The sea is about 1 km away from the southern part and up to 3.5 km from the north — a 15–25 minute walk or a few minutes by car. Read more in our guide to Hurma.
Verdict: if the sea is part of your daily routine, choose Liman or southern Hurma.
Atmosphere: lively Liman, quiet Hurma
Atatürk Boulevard roughly divides Liman in two. The seaside part is lively: cafés, restaurants, hotels and the promenade, busy until late in summer. The part closer to the mountains is quieter, with gardens and low-rise buildings.
Hurma is a quiet residential neighbourhood. There are fewer cafés and tourists, but more parks, playgrounds and enclosed courtyards. An evening out means a walk in the park rather than along the promenade.
Verdict: if you like a buzz and city life by the sea, choose Liman. If you value quiet, choose Hurma.
Property: boutique buildings or gated complexes
Liman is mostly built up with 4–6 storey buildings, including boutique projects of 20–30 apartments and complexes with a pool. There is almost no free land left, so most sales are resales and new buildings are rare.
Hurma is mainly gated complexes (“site”): several buildings around a shared garden with a pool, parking and a playground, sometimes with a gym and hammam. Building is still going on here, so the choice of new builds is wider.
In both neighbourhoods, residents of gated complexes pay aidat, a monthly fee for the upkeep of shared areas.
Verdict: looking for a new build in a complex with a pool — Hurma is more likely. Want to live by the sea in a small building — Liman.
Amenities
Both neighbourhoods have everything you need: supermarkets from Turkish chains, pharmacies, bakeries and banks. Liman has more cafés, restaurants and offices, and hosts a weekly Tuesday market. Hurma has more parks and sports areas within its complexes.
Konyaalti’s hospitals, shopping centres and schools are a few minutes away by car or bus from either neighbourhood.
Residents and the international community
Both Liman and Hurma have long been popular with foreign buyers. According to the head of the Liman neighbourhood, around 4,000 foreigners from 36 countries live there; in Hurma, too, the largest groups of foreign residents come from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, alongside Europeans. In both, shops and pharmacies are used to international customers.

What to check in either neighbourhood
Whichever you choose, Liman or Hurma, check these before you buy:
1. the real walking distance to the sea on a map;
2. that the building has an occupancy permit (iskan);
3. the year of construction and the building’s earthquake resistance;
4. what the aidat covers and how much it is in a gated complex;
5. the developer’s track record: what they have built in the area, and when.
